Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 13, 2026
Video Breakdown ("Video Breakdown", "we", "us", or "our") provides tools that turn reference videos into structured prompt packages for AI video models. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use videobreakdown.net and related services.
Information We Collect
Video upload information
When you use the free video-to-prompt tool, your browser first sends file metadata such as file name, file type, and file size. The video file itself is then uploaded directly to our storage provider through a signed upload URL. We may process and store:
- uploaded video files;
- file metadata;
- generated prompts, prompt packs, summaries, and breakdowns;
- job status, processing logs, model name, token usage, and error messages.
Anonymous visitor information
For free anonymous usage, we use an anonymous visitor identifier and related request metadata to apply daily quota limits and prevent abuse. This can include a cookie, IP-derived hash, request headers, date bucket, quota slot, and similar anti-abuse signals. We do not require an account for the free tool.
Account and payment information
If you create an account or use paid features, we may process account information such as name, email address, authentication data, organization membership, billing status, plan information, and purchase records. Payments are handled by third-party payment providers. We do not intentionally store full payment card numbers.
Cookies and local preferences
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, locale/theme preferences, cookie consent, anonymous free quota, fraud prevention, and service reliability. With your consent where required, we use Umami analytics to understand aggregate product usage, diagnose issues, and improve the service. If we enable Google Ads conversion measurement, remarketing, or other advertising tags, those tags will be disclosed here and configured with the consent controls required for the regions where we advertise.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide video-to-prompt analysis and generate prompt packs;
- verify uploads and protect free usage quota;
- operate, debug, secure, and improve the service;
- provide accounts, subscriptions, support, and billing;
- detect spam, abuse, security incidents, and policy violations;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
AI Processing
Video Breakdown may send uploaded video content, extracted metadata, and prompt instructions to AI providers so they can analyze the video and generate a prompt package. Those providers process the content according to their own terms, privacy policies, and data processing settings. Do not upload videos containing sensitive personal information, confidential business information, or content you are not authorized to process.
How We Share Information
We may share information with:
- infrastructure providers, including hosting, database, object storage, queue, and logging providers;
- AI model and inference providers;
- authentication, email, analytics, customer support, and payment providers;
- professional advisers and authorities when required by law;
- another organization if Video Breakdown is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide required notices and choices.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain job history, enforce quota, prevent abuse, debug issues, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Uploaded source videos are generally retained for up to 30 days for processing, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and user support, unless a shorter deletion path is available or a longer period is required for legal or security reasons. Generated prompts, logs, anonymous quota records, and account data may have different retention periods. We will delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, unless we are required to keep it.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including signed upload URLs, access controls, quota controls, and storage configuration. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should only upload content that you are comfortable processing through an online AI workflow.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a request, contact us at support@videobreakdown.net. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some information may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate business records.
Children
Video Breakdown is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.
International Use
Video Breakdown may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, vendors, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
